
Marie-Anne Comnène
Marie-Anne Comnène, full name Marianne Françoise Regazzacci-Stephanopoli, born December 3, 1887 in Cargèse (Southern Corsica) and died July 16, 1978 in the same city, is a French novelist, translator and historian, of distant Greek ancestry.
Marie-Anne Comnène is a descendant of Demetrius Stephanopoli of Comnène, whom King Louis XVI recognized as the descendant of the last emperor of Trebizond David II.
On March 9, 1916, she married the French literary critic Benjamin Crémieux (1888-1944).
