Portrait de Marcel Henry

Marcel Henry

Marcel Henry, notary, husband of Marceline Henry, visionary, lover of letters and nature, who devoted her life to Port-Cros. Together, they developed both a tourist activity with the opening of the Hôtellerie Provençale, but also a desire to preserve the island by its registration on March 17, 1930 among the natural sites and monuments of an artistic character at the request of the Minister of National Education and Fine Arts. Her influence with the State, with the mayor of Hyères of whom she was deputy, then with scientists from the Paris Museum, enabled the development and influence of Port-Cros.
