Four years after the Grand Prize at the Venice Biennale (1960), a series of anthological events and an abundant and prestigious bibliography, Jean Fautrier's work still divided critics and remained unknown to the general public. This retrospective — accompanied by the artist's donation to the MAMVP allowing a presentation of his works in the museum's permanent collection — will contribute to wider recognition of Jean Fautrier.
