Alain Robbe-Grillet, born August 18, 1922 in Saint-Pierre-Quilbignon (Finistère) and died February 18, 2008 in Caen (Calvados), is a French novelist and filmmaker, considered, with Nathalie Sarraute, as the leader of the new novel.
