
Giorgio de Chirico
_Giorgio De Chirico, born July 10, 1888 in Vólos in Thessaly (Greece), and died November 20, 1978 in Rome (Italy), is an Italian painter, sculptor and writer whose works, unanimously admired by the surrealists until 1925, were then rejected just as unanimously. He is one of the founders of the metaphysical painting movement.
