Exhibition "Jacques Riviere and the modernity of the 1920s"
from Saturday, September 13 to Saturday, November 29 at Leila Slimani Media Library in Bourges, an exhibition is being held as part of the centenary of Jacques Riviere's passing.
Based on literary archives kept at the Quatre Piliers heritage library, the exhibition presents Jacques Riviere in the context of a society shaken by war, a society in full transformation in which Jacques Riviere, director of the prestigious Nouvelle Revue Francaise, helped promote artistic and literary expression between continuity and rupture.
Around the exhibition, various activities are planned, including a lecture by Bernard Baillaud, President of the Society of Readers of Jean Paulhan: "La Nouvelle Revue Francaise between Riviere and Paulhan." The lecture takes place on Friday, September 19 at 6:30 p.m. at Leila Slimani Media Library in Bourges. Free entry.
For those who cannot travel to Bourges to discover this magnificent exhibition, it is possible to acquire the exhibition catalog included in the upcoming AJRAF Cahiers 10.
